Aim

The construction of an elementary school in Keelapalur, in the country of Tamilnadu, will allow 400 children to access primary education in a peaceful and welcoming environment where they will also be able to receive a meal suited to their growth needs. The school will be attended mainly by children belonging to the Dalits (without caste) who otherwise would have no possibility of education.

The project will be completed by the construction of 10 bathrooms divided between males and females, outside the school.

Beneficiaries

Direct beneficiaries of the initiative are:

  • 400 elementary school children who will have access to the school;
  • 40120 Dalits households who will have a job at least during the construction of the school;
  • approx. 2000 adults (parents, volunteers) who will be able to use the spaces of the school in some specific meetings concerning both the activities of the school and some issues useful for improving the social, economic and health situation of the population.
