A hug from a distance

What is distance adoption? It is the hug that Anna received when she went to the Philippines. An embrace that began with about twenty young people chosen from among the poorest and needy and then slowly expanded. “We have known not only the poverty of those who cannot study but also the poverty of those who are orphans, sick, abused, rejected, abandoned”, Sister Roesyn says. Long distance adoption is a big hug that does not judge. The embrace of people who help where there is a need by accompanying children and families through the difficulties of a life without means. And so Anna came to the Philippines and was hugged by this girl who knew who she was and wanted to go to her just to say thank you. Thank you because long distance adoption changed her life and, as Sister Roesyn says, these people we help “They know you by name, they remember you with affection, they pray for you and they feel you close”.
